North Hobart Central Area Revitalisation – Pedestrian Crossing
The Elizabeth Street North Hobart precinct is located just outside the Hobart CBD. Over recent years, The Hobart City Council has transformed the streetscape of this precinct into a vibrant and popular restaurant strip.
Watermark Design was commissioned by the council in 2004 to design and fabricate bespoke pavers for the 500 meters of the precincts pavement, which focused on the connective nature of the journey through the community using geometry and pattern to create a sustaining contemporary design that unifies existing artwork.
Watermark Design was subsequently commissioned in 2006, and 2008, to design large scale site specific artworks for the precincts traffic island, and pedestrian crossing.
