The commissioned artwork at Analytical Services Tasmania, provided Watermark Design the opportunity to collaborate with the facilities scientists, and to access the laboratories microscopic imagery to design and fabricate site specific artworks for the new building.
Foyer: Scattered across the foyers floor, lineal designs of microbial organisms are juxtaposed against compositions of their massed forms etched into black granite tiles.
Entrance: A tall granite panel teems with ovals spreading across the surface of the stone, with three magnified views capturing gilded microbes in black lenses.
This commission is part of the Tasmanian Governments Artsite scheme which seeks to enrich both buildings and spaces in the public arena.
